A last minute choice for a quick break that turned out to be a most excellent 3 days. We had a room with a view of the channel which was smallish but very comfortable and most satisfactory. We had stonking weather and a winter duvee which was exchanged for a summer duvee immediately. The food and service was exemplary and... More

My partner and I have just returned after a 2 night stay at the Clifton. We were in room 4 which has wonderful sea views and a private balcony. The hotel is clearly in the process of being updated. The ground floor, which includes the reception and dining room areas, is very nicely done with tasteful decorations. The newly decorated... More

Booked a week at The Clifton and arrived with much trepidation having had bad experiences at seaside hotels. We had no need to worry this time. Warmly welcomed by Graham and shown to our room with balcony and sea view. The room was spotlessly clean, with very comfortable beds, and a modern en-suite with large fluffy towels. All the staff were very... More

Thank you for your lovely review. It's great to hear you had a wonderful holiday, Room 4 is definitely worth paying that little bit extra for with those fantastic views and the balcony to sit out on when the sun is shining, our girls work hard to ensure the cleanliness is spot on as does Graham in all he does,... Had a girls weekend in May 2013 and had a lovely break. On arrival we had a warm welcome, the rooms were spotlessly clean and the complementary bathroom goodies were fab. The bedding was crisp white and the selection of tea's, coffee's and hot chocolate was a pleasant treat. The one and only niggle was there wasn't a coat hook... More

Thanks for a fab review. We are delighted you had a fab weekend with us!. The bathroom goodies were implemented this season so it's good to hear that they are appreciated. The hooks on the back of the doors is something we will definitely look into. Carys always ensures the menu has traditional and eclectic choices so we can cater... More

We stayed for two weeks around the Late Spring Bank Holiday and booked through the internet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - David, Carys, Graham and all the other staff were wonderfully welcoming and attentive, even catering for my wife's allergy to man-made fabrics with the bedding. The room was very clean and comfortable and if we have one small... More
