My family planned to attend a family wedding in Dunbar this weekend. I booked th Rossborough hotel : 2 rooms for two days - five months in advance. 20% deposits were taken. Then yesterday after a near 7 hour drive we arrived to find the hotel closed and "for sale". Locals told us it closed at Christmas. I had to... More

I absolutely love the UK and I love traveling about it. Tantallon Castle and some others, drew me to Dunbar and the Rossborough Hotel. I stayed in the twin room overlooking the street on the top floor. I think it was room 6. The room is furnished with particle board funiture and some older chairs that are too big for... More

As a professional hotelier I have to respond to this review as there are inconsistency. The staff thank you for your kind word regarding them. 1 What is particle board? the fitted furniture in this room was custom made in 2012 from venered wood. 2 Chairs are standard size, big enough for an adult to use. 3 Swish Curtain Track... Stayed here recently as a group of 8 golfers.I have travelled both in Scotland and abroad on many occassions with both family and friends and have never before felt the need to post a negative review about anywhere I have stayed. I wasn't expecting much from reading the reviews and wasn't looking for much, just somewhere to get a decent nights... More

Thank you for your comments. I did note you forgot to mention the Free WiFi with unlimited access. The Free bike storage and the Free clothes drying. How someone on a one night stay who drank and ate in the hotel could tell what the local thinks is amazing. We cater for travellers and tourists why would the locals need... More

Ideal location on Coast and Castles bike ride. Bar not good, locals say avoid Rossborough if looking for bar. I had single room, it was ok, small, couldnt get tv to work, doors a bit fiddly. For 1 night stopover it was somewhere i could get hot bath, drink and only few minutes to other pubs and bars. Not the... More

I am struggling to know where to start. Overpriced - normal room rate over £100 per night, reduced to £95 - if it wasn't so dire it may be funny (not). This is B and B rate by the way. We have here a "hotel" charging 4* rates for minus 4* quality. Room - not clean, cobweb next to the... More

After a 35 mile (53 km) drive starting at the Airport then part inside roadwork plagued Edinburgh, part on the A1 motorway leaving Edinburgh and then mainly on narrow B roads (single lane traffic in to and from), we arrived at the The Rossborough Hotel in Dunbar. It offers parking for its guests which is a positive note. The hotel... More

The hotel is in a good location, slightly out of town but near the beach. The staff were really attentive, helpful and efficient. The room was spacious with a lovely bathroom, The food was very basic & a disappointment. (maybe because I am a vegetarian)

We were very pleased with this hotel overall. As our room faced the main road we thought it would be noisy, but not at all. We had a really lovely ensuite room and with a small couch in the bay window. If I was being picky I would ask why there was no soap in the bathroom and why is... More

During a short trip to Edinburgh I stayed at the Rossborough Hotel in Dunbar, mainly because of its beautiful location and convenience to the city centre (via train which was a 5 min walk from hotel via a quiet sandy beach). The train journey was very comfortable and has the option of travelling first class only using 15-20 minutes of... More

if you are after a propper 5 star hotel, go book one and pay its prices. If you want a functional branded hotelroom identical to any other youve stayed in then Edinburgh has lots for you! Where this place wins every time is its cozy, cumfortable, family run atmosphere with a major emphasis on value for money and qualitty associated... More
