We stayed here for a weekend and after tasting the breakfast (no watery bacon etc here - all locally sourced tasty stuff) decided to book an evening meal too. We were not disappointed. The food was home cooked and delicious and the service great. The couple who run the pub manage to look after you really well without being intrusive,... More

Nice friendly Pub, The food was varied and well presented, and at reasonable prices, the breakfast was also up to a good standard. The room I had was spacious and clean with an albeit small en suite, it also had a small flat screen TV and high speed internet. The corridors and stairs could do with a bit of a... More

decent sized clean room ; comfy bed ; very clean bathroom ; excellent breakfast ; no parking problems ; good choice of beer ; friendly hosts. The building itself is a little bit tired but from the looks of things the owners are doing updates bit by bit. Would certainly use again when in that part of the world. Great... More

Room slightly dated but extremely clean. Wonderful friendly welcome - a real "home from home" feel about the place. Very good value - excellent food. Highly recommended, good location - very handy for the area, only 3 miles from Durham city.. More

I live local to the area and fancied taking my wife for a nice meal. On arriving at the three horse shoes we where told to take a seat and someone will be over to take our order. After going to the bar twice asking for someone to take our order they finally took it 35 minutes later which we... More

I visited this pub with my partner as it always looks busy and welcoming. However, although the welcome was lovely, the setting lovely - with fantastic views - the food was sorely disappointing. My partner had the black pudding starter, which arrived swimming in an awful sickly, creamy peppery sauce. My baby camembert with tangy chutney was not a baby... More

Stayed here for two nights when in Durham for our sons graduation. We were treated like family by the owners and the staff were brilliant. The food was good plain home cooking and plenty of it..The full English breakfast was incredible. We will definitely return. This was good old fashioned Northern hospitality.Highly recommended More

The Inn is located a couple of miles from Durham so handy to visit the city & countryside. However, our first impression was the dirty stair carpet up to the rooms, which although basically clean was in desperate need of decorating & so tiny we hardly had floorspace for our bags. The ensuite was a shade of green fashionable in... More

My colleague and I stayed here for two nights in June, sharing a twin room. Ok, the decor is a bit dated, but what the heck, the welcome we received was much more important, as was the great choice of home-cooked lunches and dinners. We really enjoyed our stay, but you won't be staying here if you like the clinical,... More
