A nice pub which also offers overnight accommodation. Great bar food and ambience. Made to feel welcome. Comfortable bedrooms which could do with a kettle, tea and coffee making facilities. Pleasant shower rooms with nice clean towels. All in all good value for money. Lovely staff who were very helpful and welcoming!

Excellent meal! Loads to choose from, friendly staff, good quality and quantity! I couldn't finish my steak and kidney pie. Toilets spotless. Good price! Well worth a visit.

always used to call in here, then the croxdale closed for a while. We were looking for a sunday lunch after travelling from whitby back home to Durham and called in on the off chance they were still serving at 6pm. We were met by friendly, helpful staff and shown to a table in a lovely warm conservatory. The sunday lunch... More

For the information of serious reviewers: all of the beds in the croxdale inn were purchased new in September 2009, there are no 'grubby' headboards and we pride ourselves on the cleaniness of our rooms, all rooms were decorated in April 2009, and our public areas were totally refurbished in September 2009. Our resteraunt is closed on Sunday evenings, however,... More

The room we had was fine, clean and well kept. Everything was working and for a stopover it is fine. Staff were friendly although quite thin on the ground but it was off season so they weren.t that busy

Grubby headboard and carpets. No heating in shower room or towel rails/hooks. Bar closed Sunday evening and when we arrived back no heating or electric for TV or to boil kettle. No telephone contact and no explanation or apology in morning. Also took payment from Mastercard automatically contrary to booking conditions. Advertised jacuzzi which was actually in laundry room (dirty... More

to serious reviewers: we do not have grubby headboards or carpets, have undergone an extensive refurbishment and improvement program in 2009, including new caspets in our rooms, new beds and headboards, we always supply clean and crisp linen and pride ourselves on cleanliness. On this occasion, the bar was closed on the Sunday evening, as the law dictates to us... More

Staying at the Croxdale Inn was a terrible experience. The room overlooked a busy road with consequent traffic noise; there was noise from a wedding party in the bar downstairs; the smoke alarm was set off during the night but no staff came to tell guests what the problem was; there was scum on the coffee at breakfast; the television... To serious reviewers: We do not overlook a busy road, we are a small countryside guest house, the 'main road' on which our establishment is located is the B6288. Obviously we are unable to control 'noise' from the wedding in our establishment, although we close strictly at 11.00pm, every night, most nights well before that. On this occasion, the smoke...
