We spent 2 nights with friends at this excellent B & B. Unfortunately we couldn't stay longer due to other commitments! We received a warm welcome from Andy & Jill and we enjoyed our chats with them. The colour schemes of both our room and the dining room were very tasteful. Our towels were replaced after only one night and... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights for my husbands birthday. We stayed in the Beaumont room which was lovely and clean and had everything we could need, including the use of DVDs and a WIFI connection for the iphone or laptop. Towels were replaced and the room cleaned on both days of our stay. The room itself... More

Best B&B we've been to; more like a boutique hotel. Very welcoming hosts, super clean room and bathroom, very nice decor. Everything has been thought of - tea, coffee, biscuits, water, dvd's to borrow if you fancy staying in and having a quiet evening, wireless internet in each room. Breakfast was delicious. It's easy walking distance from the train station... More

My husband and I stayed here two nights, in the Flambard Room, at the end of April. Durham happened to be extremely wet and pretty cold, so it was a real pleasure to come back to Jill and Andy's house and relax in comfort, with a good cup of tea/coffee (and free tv/WiFi ... or not). The room is roomy... More

When we decided to spend a weekend in the North East, we chose this B&B thanks to tripadvisor - we were not disappointed and stayed in The Flambards Room. The room was spotlessly clean and had a roomy en-suite toilet/shower, a VERY comfortable bed, TV with freeview channels and a great view of Durham Cathedral which is about 20 minutes... More

Have just returned from an enjoyable stay in Durham. We stayed in the Flambards room which was very clean and comfortable. Andy and Jill are lovely people who made us feel welcome and we had a delicious breakfast each morning. Bridge Hotel and Italian restaurant recommended by Jill provide good food at reasonable prices. Castle tour is very good and... More

We booked this for my father-in-laws birthday, so haven't actually stayed there ourselves. On their return from the two night break all they could talk about was how fantastic the B + B was. It was a combination of a really lovely quality room (they stayed in the Beaumont room which had beautiful views onto parkland), delicious breakfast and the... More

As a surprise weekend away for our 35th Anniversary, hours were spent trolling through the internet to find the right place. Having read other reviews and seeing the photo's of the accommodation, 3 nights were booked at The Vicorian Town House. What a great decision it turned out to be. We were given a lovely warm welcomed by Jill, who... More
