I am retracting the last review I made on this facility hopefully the management at TA read this and do not publish the previous missive. After initial issue with a matter that is resolved, I can only say the manager of the hotel one David Powlson acted in a highly professional and endearing manner when dealing with the problem. He... Just spent a bargain 2 day break at the hotel-some really excellent points -the location-the staff were very friendly-but all the positives were swept away by the room we were allocated room 414 in the mews-i have never in my life stayed in a smaller room so small you couldnt open the wardrobe doors without hitting something-the double bed was... I'm glad to hear that you found our staff friendly and found the location of the hotel was good for you. Thank you also for bringing to our attention the lack of thermostatic control valve, which should be present as standard and we will rectify the problem in that room. More

I know the area fairly well and have always wanted to stay in a nice suite, so I chose the R&F. We booked the Percival Suite which is the luxury suite and is also pictured on their website. It was cheaper for dinner, bed and breakfast as they had a special offer and it was very reasonable. We were met... More

We stayed at this hotel over New Year, we found the staff very very good, nothing to much trouble for them. The food was great always hot and to much for us! The rooms had been undated and were fine, clean and the bathroom was large. Yes the noise outside was a bit of a problem but it was new... More

The hotel was o.k. - perhaps more likely to suit the older generations. The staff were rude though and didn't give you the time of day, particularly Harriet who doesn't have the words 'please' or 'thank you' in her vocabularly. Breakfast was average, but again the staff seemed disinterested or put out if you asked for anything.
