I stay regularly at the Glen Garth, both on business and pleasure. There is a great friendly atmosphere from all the staff and Peter and Janet always make you welcome. The food is of an exteremly high standard and always well presented with a very good selection of vegetables of the day and if you don't fancy what's on the... More

Top of Tripadvisor so I guess I was expecting too much. Stayed for one night whilst visiting friends. Its a nice hotel, probably more of a bed and breakfast in all honesty and its a bit old fashioned in place. If you like kind of old fashioned Laura Ashley you'll love it here, flowers and swirls. The place is set... More

Stayed for one night in a single room prior to a business meeting in Barrow. The room was fairly small with a comfortable bed and the room was quiet and warm on a very cold night. The staff are very friendly and the food was excellent and good value, as was the breakfast. All in all, a refreshing change from... More

Stayed for 2 nights on business recently. For £70 a night I expected a lot more. Location is good on the main abbey road drag into town but far enough out - a mile or so - so that it's quiet enough. Single room was very single, thin walls which meant I could hear the people in rooms either side.... More

Glen Garth was an absolute 'haven' to me, as I found myself in Barrow needing accommodation in an emergency situation. The management and staff combined a totally professional service with friendly care and support for me personally. The food was excellent, varied and beautifully presented. The public rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The... More

After a long stay I have recently checked out of the Glen Garth Hotel. The experience was fantastic. The Hotel rooms, bar and dining area are clean and extremely well presented. I found a bit of Heaven in the meals at Glen Garth. The food is superb, of a quality which would match any restaurany with Michelin starsand a reputation. It is beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. I can highly recommend any of the meat dishes as all the meat is of the highest quality. Anyone who thinks of lamb... More

The rooms are comfortable and the hotel location is close enough to town to be able to walk in for a visit but far enough out not to suffer from the town night life. During my stay the staff were polite, always professional and very helpfull and the food was excelent.

I've been staying at the Glen Garth whilst on business in Barrow. Once you recover from the shock of a single bed (something I'm learning is common in the area) you'll find the rooms have everything that you need for a comfortable stay. It is the food and hospitality that make the Glen Garth my regular haunt in Barrow. They... More
