Stayed for two days. Room reasonable, breakfast quite good. Little outside of main area so long walks or taxis needed. Place is quite nice, I would say it probably had a last design 15 or so years ago and while its very clean and tidy it is also a bit dated compared to modern hotels. My mum would have preferred... We stayed as a family for two nights and almost everything about our stay was ideal. A clean, quiet adequately equipped room. Plenty of safe parking. Good food and friendly staff. Ideally located for our needs. Good value for money. Only one minor point was that the restaurant was closed on our second day but we were advised of this... More

This hotel has an over riding great feel about the place and would recommend a stay here. However, the only issue i've had was with a member of staffs attitude, in particular with who I now know as being part of this really nice family run business. Mum and dad are very friendly and make a big effort to welcome... More

We stayed at this hotel for just one night. I had made enquiries and booked by e-mail and the staff were extremely helpful. On arrival we were given the option of a modern room in the new annex or a traditional room in the main hotel. We chose the annex. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Although on... More

Good food, nice lounge and bar. Excellent free wi-fi. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The room could do with a little update, but it was spotlessly clean - and that's what matters most. Overall, a most enjoyable stay. What more can I say?

We stayed at this hotel when attending a wedding nearby. On one of the main roads into Barrow, but set back so it's very quiet. It was a lovely hotel, with a friendly welcome. We paid £75 and had a really clean and spacious room. Number 10 I think. Bathroom was nice with a big bath. In the room there... More

I had a very comfortable overnight stay at the Chetwynde Hotel whilst on business at the hospital (5 minutes walk away). The building itself is impressive on the outside and well maintained on the inside. The rooms are well-kept and furnished with mod-cons, whilst conveying a sense of the owners' individual style. The owners themselves were very hospitable, and the... More
