Just returned from a stay at the Claremont where we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. We were welcomed on arrival with a cuppa from Alan and lots of useful advice about places to eat and interesting walks to explore before being shown to our room. The room, like the rest of the Claremont, was very... More

We agree that the reviews written pre-2010 should be ignored as these do not relate to the current owners. We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean and well presented with a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water for showers, large tea cups and sufficient space. We received a very friendly welcome and it was a pleasant suprise... More

After a 6 hour drive, we were impressed to be greeted by some tea and coffee. We stayed in the apartment that was nicely decorated and very welcoming like both Deborah and Alan. We were asked if we needed help planning our stay, they had numbers for everything from the bike rents to the canoeing place. After a day of... More

I've stayed in loads of hotels whilst on business and wish they had the same high standards as those demonstrated by Debra and Alan. The rooms are well furnished and comfortable, the owners are helpful and friendly and the cooked breakfasts are wonderful. Very highly recommended! More

My son and daughter in law booked this trip as a surprise Christmas present. We couldn't have had a better place to stay! The breakfasts provided were faultless, ample to set you up for the day ahead. The welcome we received was so inviting, friendly and warm. As we have been to the Lake District before, we vaguely knew the... More

Met up with friends who had previously stayed and where staying at the Claremont. Very tastefully decorated rooms which where comfortable and incredibly warm. Rooms where clean and spacious, all had tea making facilities and en-suite. Debra and Alan are extremely friendly and hospitable, nothing is too much trouble. They have extensive knowledge of the area and treat you like... More
