Our first Coach Trip purchased through local paper with "Just Go" holidays, a four night stay. THEN we looked at Tripadvisor reports and regretted booking. However, we are pleased to report - Welcomed by manageress/staff with a cup of tea, introductory chat and rooms sorted. Redecorated this year, it was built in 1821, so basic rooms, clean and smelling of... More

How people can say that this hotel is not good must be mad as I travel throughout England with my job so stay in various hotels at least 3 times a month sometimes more. I found this hotel to be excellent it is clean and the staff very friendly, food plentiful and tea and coffee is fully replenished every morning.... More

Used to stay here when it was The Leading Lights hotel 12 years ago, a great couple used to run it. Now, what a difference a decade makes. Only good point left, is the location. Rooms are really shabby, not properly cleaned, food has gone downhill. Ruined great memories of a once great little hotel, new owners just don't care.

I've had quite a few economy short breaks in hotels. This was by far the worse. I could not rate it as a hotel, I would describe it as a B & B or Boarding House. There was no reception area and I never found out who was in charge. All the staff appeared to do whatever job needed to... More

i have never stayed in such a drab, dismal, rundown, neglected hotel. Carpets were filthy, chipped wallpaper and paint. No hot water in en suite the day we arrived. Tiny sink with shelf about 3 inches above it so impossible to wash properly. Dirty shower Bleach spilt on carpet, stains on ceiling rooms smelt musty. A complete waste of my hard earned money....
