Very warm welcome, the afternoon coffee with cake was delicious. Each breakfast - we were spoilt for choice. Our lunch pack-ups were very good value. The room was pleasent, clean with plenty of hot water and towels.Ray's banter and local information was first class. Well done Frei and Ray for making our stay a most enjoyable time More

A lovely B and B . nice rooms . but could do with updating their Televisions, as they had really small old type tvs , and it was difficult to see the picture or read the credits. More

A very welcome sight and a very warm welcome after a long day on the Pennine Way - we got birthday cake and solicitation when we arrived and a lot of very interesting conversation. A great breakfast and good advice the next moring before our assault on Cross Fell. Highly recommended! Very nice to have all locally sourced food -... More

We arrived here at the end of a long day walking the Pennine Way and were made very welcome-tea, coffee and a lovely slice of birthday cake! The room was beautiful, the bed very comfortable and the whole place very peaceful. We ate at the nearby Stag-very good-and were given a superb breakfast next morning after an excellent night's sleep.... More

This is an excellent B&B where we stayed for 2 nights at the end of walking a section of the Pennine Way. Very welcoming, excellent food and friendly service. The only slight negative was the limited menu in the local pub though the portions were v.generous. Thoroughly recommended More

My husband was walking from Stoke on Trent to Scotland, picking up The Pennine Way at Edale and finishing in Kirk Yetholm. We were fortunate to choose this beautiful guest house and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Ray & Frei are very hospitable and from the minute we arrived we were made to feel at home. The setting of the house... More

I was lucky enough to get a cancellation at Hallcroft for the Appleby Horse Fair which I wished to photograph. On arrival we were greeted by Ray and treated to a lovely home made cake and cup of tea (been promised the recipe)! The situation of the cottage is lovely with fantastic views. The room was lovely with tea and... More

This is an excellent (and very reasonable) B&B in Dufton, a beautiful village at the foot of the Pennines and on the Pennine way. It's a large and interesting Victorian house with great views and 3 very comfortable and well-furnished guest rooms (2 en-suite, the other with own bathroom, all equipped with DVDs and TVs), plus a guest lounge. We've... More
