Hi just spent an overnight stay at Homelands celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary. We stayed in the garden suite , private, secluded and cosy. Everything was spottless clean and wanted for nothing, Brian and Deborah were perfect hosts , friendly and relaxing, from arriving to leaving. The only downside of our stay , was not being there longer. Next time... More

What to say about Homelands where we stayed just last night? Everything is done well. The Garden room was charming, peaceful and the beds dangerously comfortable. The welcome was generous and friendly and the breakfast would grace a 5 star hotel, from the crisp linen to the delicious, hot, locally sourced food. If you stay in Barnard Castle its simple,... A very good bed and breakfast. Welcome cup of tea and very friendly owners made this a lovely trip. Breakfast was exceptional with a delicious fruit salad and gluten free bread. Bikes safely locked away.

Perfect accommodation after a full day's cycling. Friendly cheerful welcome from booking through to arrival. The welcome cup of tea was much appreciated. High quality rooms, well equipped. The breakfast was delicious, particularly the fruit salad. I would stay here again. Gill H

Barnard Castle sits on the Walney to Wearside cycle route, so if your looking for somewhere to rest your aching body after climbing the Pennines then homelands guest house is the perfect place to stay. We were made very welcome ( a complementary beer was just the tonic we needed ), the rooms were excellent, and the hearty breakfast really... More

The reviews are well deserved - staying at the Homelands was perfect for our wedding night. When we arrived we were given a warm an enthusiastic welcome. Deborah brought coffee to our room... More

We had a really great stay with a very warm welcome last week. Deborah was a lovely host and gave us information about local restaurants etc and gave us tea and coffee on arrival. The garden room was as good as everyone else had reported and is tucked away at the end of the garden. This is a very clean... More

I stayed here as one of a party of wedding guests. The Bride and Groom also stayed and our welcome defies description. Deborah and Bryan made such an effort to make it special by waiting on us as we got ready and putting up banners. My single room was super (even had FRESH coffee in it) and the breakfast was... More
