On the good side: Lovely views of the harbour, friendly staff, good breakfast, but... Awful beds (soft edges that you roll out of), bad attitude by the owner, old fashioned rooms, tiny shower room, difficult car park, limited evening access to Fowey due to ferry closing times, and very expensive for what you get. One of our party was on... More

Having Completed the 4 mile walk around the harbour,we stopped off at the Old Ferry Inn for a well earned beverage and light lunch before catching the Ferry over to Fowey. We had a lovely table seat outside in the sunshinee with a great view. The food was very nice indeed, as was the service from the young comic waiter.... More

I have to disagree with “Shabby but not Chic”. Certainly it was not “Chic” and yes is was probably a bit tired but our room was spotless and our bathroom (not en suite) was also very clean and towels changed when requested. The staff were lovely – especially Pete. I would go there again. Great value for money.

Our weekend away to celebrate my birthday was ruined. We paid £95 per night for room 7 what a con! Tired uninspiring room. Carpet in bathroom put us off straight away. There was no proper shower or shower curtain just a hand held shower contraption. The lampshade was broken and the curtains were stained. A constant drone all night presumably... More

Stayed with another couple on a 2 night BB and Evening meal package, our room was right at the top in the newer section and had an amazing view from two aspects, one across to Polruan and the other looking across the river to Fowey. The deal was very good value the Pub was quiet and the food was excellent.... More

Four days with 11 others + baby and a dog for 80 year olds birthday family long weekend. November but a warm, cosy old fashioned Inn (pub) not a hotel, yet with residents' sitting room with fine views down the river past Fowey to the sea, a dining room with view across the river and ferry and a traditional pub... Just returned from 3 very pleasant nights at the Old Ferry Inn in Bodinnick with my partner and parents. This hotel remains a firm favourite of ours for a number of factors: the warm and friendly staff, the charming bar area filled with nostalgia and an open fire...and of course, the breath-taking views. Proper Cornish ale behind the bar is... More

I have visited the Ferry often this year and have learned the art of a passable evening. If upon arrival there is no one behind the bar, don't be shy ring the little hand bell, if the pub is busy the staff member will arrived looking stressed, or if quiet disinterested. It is difficult however to tell the difference between... More

Thankyou for your feedback, however these criticisms may have been dealt with at a more satisfactory level had they been taken up with a member of staff at the time. The Old Ferry Inn is a small establishment and staff are generally trained to work in all areas of the pub/hotel so when there are no customers requiring service the... More

We stayed in room 7 - very expensive at £105, but went for it as it had a good view. However, that was the only good thing about room 7 and The Old Ferry Inn. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room is over the kitchen, with what sounded like a generator droning on for the whole night -... More
