My husband and I stayed at this B&B for a few nights recently and it was a really lovely place. The owners were friendly and very accommodating with our early arrival with the bags which was great news after a quite early flight. The room we stayed in was large, sunny and beautifully decorated with an immaculate bathroom with a... More

We were fortunate to have the Tourist Office in Inverness suggest this B&B on our Sept 11 trip. The owners, the Grahams are warm and friendly and know a great deal about Orkney if you ask. The B&B was purpose built for this type of accomodation rather than the usual old home converted into a B&B. Our room #3 was... More

If you are looking for a welcoming and friendly guest house, then Ardconnel will meet all your needs. Margaret and John are very attentive and helpful. For example, John met us off the Aberdeen ferry which arrives in Kirkwall at 11 pm. The rooms are spacious, modern and very well-equipped (Kit Kats with the tea tray). Breakfast is well-cooked and... This is a comfortable guest house with a warm welcome. The accommodation is very good, breakfasts well cooked and presented, and the owners could not have been more helpful. Off street parking is available. I recommend this B&B to anyone who is looking for moderately priced accommodation in a friendly house.

John & Margaret Graham are a warm friendly couple who run this family guest house in the countryside overlooking Kirkwall harbour. Our room was excellent with views over fields. It was a large room with an en suite shower and everything was spotlessly clean and serviced daily. The Grahams are relaxed about guests coming and going and go out of... More

I have stayed in many B&Bs all over the UK and this is the best bar none. A bit tricky to locate in the dark, as the sign isn't lit on the wall. But once you are in, it is lovely. Very clean and spacious rooms with a flatscreen tv/DVD. They cater very well for kids and made sure our... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in June. This is truly a family place, with both John, Margaret & one of their daughters taking care of us. We were greeted with a genuine smile, and all through our stay our hosts made us at ease. Our room was large, bright, with clean modern furnishing, and plenty of space for all... More

We stayed there for 2 nights in the middle of June and it was great. The breakfast was awesome and included a huge variety of fresh fruit including strawberries, grapes and cherries that no other b&b offered us (standard is apple and bananas) . You can chose what you wanna eat: the classical Socttish breakfast, including sausages, bacon and beans;... More

This is a fantastic family run B&B just a few minutes walk out of the town of Kirkwall with a great country and town view. The rooms were clean, well decorated, modern and very pleasant to be in. You won't get better and the friendliness and service was excellent with nothing too much trouble. Food was first class. Highly recommended.............well... More
