Only stayed here for one night but the guesthouse owner and his wife were so accommodating. Upon noticing my preference to the small biscuits the landlord left three more on my pillow. Lovely location, beautiful rooms, good detail on everything (just one example : 2 breakfast fruit salads, plus fantastic full english, or porridge, or eggs benedict or or ....), just the right amount of care and attention from John and Jenny - overall perfect family weekend reunion venue with communal rooms as well as own bedrooms. Many attractions and walks locally.

We had a lovely 2 night break with our 11 month old daughter at Portland House. The owners were very welcoming and the food was lovely. Also our daughter loved the resident woodie, Jess! Would recommend to families as there is also lots to do nearby with the hedge maze and butterfly zoo just a 5 minute walk away.
