We stayed for one night. We were upgraded on arrival. The room was extremely pleasant and had a balcony overlooked the lake. We ordered room service and were impressed by the cost and quality. The bed was very comfy and had plenty of good quality pillows and a duvet - a basic that many hotels miss! The bathroom was spotless... More

This is a very pretty and quiet country-house hotel with a picturesque location and a nice golf course next to it. The manager and staff were terrific and helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble. The restaurant was was very smart and both food and service were of exceptionally high quality for a 3 star hotel. The rooms are spacious, nice,... More

Firstly I must say that none of us golf, not one bit, so we cannot speak to the golf course other than to describe it as fresh and green, very beautiful, frequented by happy looking gentlemen in smart clothes. It had a very nice looking club house with an outdoor upper floor deck and cafe overlooking the links. But as... More

We stayed for a family birthday party last weekend. The room was extremely well appointed, clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the lake. The added bonus was sight of a kingfisher and a grey heron. The bed was roomy and comfortable, and as a result we slept in late, making us a little late for breakfast. The only downside... More

The hotel is fine, but the golf course is not very interesting. The food was good, the wine was expensive and the staff were helpful.

We returned for a 1 night golfing break after visiting about 5 years ago. Staff friendly and service was very good. Food was excellent as before, but the house wine was expensive. Nice room with balcony overlooking the lake, unfortunately there was a group of 18 lady golfers who had no consideration for other residents, they were very noisy in... More

The room was lovely. But the rest of the place was tired, worn out, overpriced, understaffed. The reception staff were ok. The other staff members were very good. There just did not seem to be enough of them, prob due to the lack of customers. The food was mediochre for the price paid. The breakfast was ok. Evening meal, was... More

Stormed out of Travel Lodge in Reading and booked into The Springs by telephone at 11pm. Travel Lodge was a big mistake, always read the reviews. Manager and receptionist waited up for us and booked us into a lovely clean, tidy room with an excellent en suite. Stayed here once before and very pleased. After our trauma we slept late... More

In serious need of a refurb - in our room the carpet was very grubby as was the bathroom and the bedheads were lopsided and insecure, the room was huge but no air conditioning and only a sliding patio door to a balcony and given the notices around the place warning of thefts we had to shut before sleeping -... After arriving for a wedding reception it looked like a fantastic location, however, after poor management of the registration we were then told we would be found once the room was ready, this did not happen, I then had to get our keys 30 minutes later and upon entering our executive suite (paid quite a high rate for the double...
