Went away with friends to Cromwell Lodge, situated in central Banbury. Lovely clean white sheets, Rooms vary, ours was small some of our friends had very large, all very clean. Food - good portions and good quality. DONT go to the Italian a few doors away food disappointing

Stayed for one night and the staff were very willing and friendly. The bed was comfortable and the environment clean but overall the place has an English "tired hotel" feel about it with floorboards very noisy and way beyond being a character feature. It's fine for what you pay but do not expect more than a 3 star experience.

English weather can spoil most things, a recent trip to Banbury was only made bearable by a visit to The Cromwell Lodge Hotel. A warm welcome from the young staff and a superb and affordable menu made us stay for a longer than planned lunch.
