We enjoyed a comfortable, relaxing weekend in this friendly hotel , full of character. Our room, overlooking a large pleasant garden, was clean spacious, and comfortable with a large bed..[ 3star+ standard]. Breakfast was quite wide-ranging with the hot cooked section very good indeed. We would have wished for a broader choice of fresh fruit but this did not hamper... More

This is a lovely hotel, that’s clearly grown over the years. To get to the room involved lots of going down and up short flights of stairs and down lots of winding corridors (to be fair there is also a small and quite antiquated lift, but to get to it from reception you have to leave the hotel and walk... We stayed here with a family! We, especially my 2 year old son enjoyed this stay! The rooms were quite big :) . The bedroom was facing the garden, and it was very quiet. There were 2 TVs 1 in each room. Wi-fi was free as well. Had a very pleasant full English breakfast in the morning. Staff was friendly.... More

My partner and I had never visited Banbury before and were delighted to discover that the Whately Hall Hotel was in the exact perfect location to visit everywhere in and out of town. The parking was free too which was a huge plus! The hotel itself was charming, warm and homely, the only downside was that our room wasn't double-glazed... More

Last year my wife underwent brain surgery to remove a tumour. She is not able to commit to a "holiday" at present, so we are making short breaks to nice hotels. Most of them have been booked through Travelzoo. I am now catching up with the reviews on Tripadvisor. We were first shown to room 41 which was a suite... More

First and foremost to remember this hotel is a 3 Star Access is through a narrow entrance between the hotel on the right and the cinema on the left - the largest car I saw going through very carefully was a Range Rover and there was a white transit van on the car park side to give you an idea... The location of this hotel was very convenient. There are loads of good restaurants within walking distance, and there are lots of shops nearby. The rooms I've stayed in were average...
