We ate there on two consecutive nights, Friday and Saturday, and really enjoyed the food, huge helpings, well cooked. The bar staff were helpful and quite friendly and the locals seemed very welcoming. Despite the signs (which were everywhere and for every possible reason) they allowed our (wet and muddy) labrador in the lounge area by the roaring fire, and... More

We stayed close by and regularly walked to the pub for a lunchtime/evening meals. The meals were fine a bit 'standard' and the menu was quiet small but what do you expect from a traditional pub. We can reccommend the Plaice in breadcrumbs, Fillet Steak with black bean sauce and the roast dinners (huge! with a massive side portiion of... More

We have just returned for an overnight stay at Ye olde Cheshire Cheese Inn, after friends and family were at the Crewe & Harpur down the road for a long weekend to celebrate special birthdays. Ye olde Cheshire Cheese was a perfect place to stay as it was a 2 minute walk from the Crewe & Harpur. We were shown... More

We stayed here on a Saturday night as friends had hired out the Crew and Harpur down the road. The room itself was ok, quite nicely decorated, big comfortable bed, but a few things really let it down. When the girl showed us to our room in the evening she noticed we didn't have any cups to make a cup... More

The Cheshire Cheese Longnor has definitely changed for the better. A Relaxed country atmosphere, Good Beer, great prices and lovely home-made food served all day. Just what the visitors to the village and locals need. I can recommend the Steak & Ale Pie. Well done to the new management.

Stayed at The Cheshire Cheese in Longnor several times now and it has been fantastic each time. Sadly things have changed, there is now new management. I didnt stay but we called in for lunch and it was fine. The Magic man is no longer there and the Fish and Chips are not the same. We will use again if... More

First time for over a year since we had a meal here, what a disapointment, food looked like it been dropped on the plate by a JCB bucket. Food was soggy, and certainly not fresh. Service at the bar and restaurant was very haphazard. The whole place needs a good clean. It will be a long time before we return... More

Sadly, there is something rotten in the state of Longnor, though it's certainly not the chip shop or the newsagents fantastic establishments both. The Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn has unfortunately taken a bit of a turn for the worse since the last reviews on here (nearly a year ago you'll notice). Whilst the room was potentially lovely I feel fellow... More
