A lovely house in a lovely situation, with very welcoming hosts who seem to have thought of every last detail to make our stay comfortable and memorable.

We made Hay in the sunshine! It was a perfect 3 days in every way. Jim and Margaret are wonderful hosts. Perfect location to explore the Wye valley. Highly recommend! Stayed in Tretower, a room with a beautiful view.

A really excellent B&B. Jim & Margaret couldn't have done more to make our stay a lovely experience. We'll definately be going back!

I would fly all the way back to the UK and make my way to Hay-On-Wye just to stay one more time at York House - beautiful place, outstanding hosts and Jim's porridge...YUM!!!

Had a very enjoyable midweek break. The house is well located, only a few minutes walk from Hay centre. It's very comfortable, breakfast is excellent and Jim and Margaret are very good hosts. Free wifi was an unexpected bonus. We spent some time in the bookshops of course, but also managed a couple of walks in the Black Mountains. Thanks... More

A first time stay, in two rooms for two nights. Jim & Margaret were great hosts, and the whole set up is professional and well-organised (although asking teenagers to choose breakfast options 12 hours in advance was a struggle!). The rooms were spotlessly clean, brilliantly appointed, and very, very comfortable. The house is lovely, the gardens magnificent, the food locally... More

We were very impressed by York House. The environment was fantastic, and felt much more like an upmarket hotel than a B&B - the rooms were furnished very well, and guests are clearly the focus of the house (rather than just a side-line!). The B&B is run by a very welcoming couple who also cooked a very good breakfast. We... More

We have been visiting York House for many years and have always been totally satisfied. Margaret and Jim Wesley make their guests very warmly welcome. The bedrooms are spotlessly clean and comfortably furnished. Breakfasts are varied and appetising. Guests are encouraged to sit in or stroll around the lovely garden. This is an ideal place to stay if one is... More

We are a german couple with a 12 y. old child, and stayed two nights at York House by Jim&Margaret. We were very pleased with the warm and friendly welcome and treatment. Everything was perfect: The room, the breakfast, the surroundings etc. We can give our unrestricted recommendation for this B&B. If you visit Hay-on-Wye, give York House a chance,... More

We selected York House through internet research and TripAdvisor, and are glad we chose it. The house itself is charming – huge but homely. Ignore some of the previous comments – the bedroom and ensuite bathroom we had was quite big; huge by some European and US standards. Our room (Clifford), had a large double bed, view over the massive... More
