This quirky old place needs to be seen from different angle. Baskerville Hall is a grand old lady with eccentric ways but you just can't help but love her. We had a lovely time, the owner was friendly and informative and always on hand with the history of the place which is facinating. My room a budget standard was clean... More

grand architecture - the hallway, and staircase are magnificent. the principal rooms are huge and some of the views from them are beautiful. the bathroom arrangements in some of the rooms are decidedly eccentric but quite fun. the place obviously costs a lot to run and the owner has to achieve a balancing act to make ends meet. result -... Arriving late on the friday evening we were very warmly welcomed and shown to our room. We opted for the dormitory, due to price (only £20 pppn which included a full english breakfast). The room was small and could have done with a good clean and lick of paint, but it was no worse than a YH. The one issue... More

Staff very friendly and the owner was very welcoming and laid back. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were spotless but yes, they are dated but think adds to it's charm and quirkiness. Had a wonderful stay in the budget rooms and can't wait to go again. Even went to the disco where we were the oldest swingers in town!!... More

Stayed in 4 bed dorm room - old fashioned and TV only had 1 channel. Not very clean. Whole hotel run down but staff very friendly, nice grounds, live music in Wed nights. Good range of meals, very nice. Breakfast basic. More

We had a mid week break....good value....staff excellent...especially Stewart who you will have read about The lamb shank which we were offered was so good we had it twice. He asked us what we would like for dinner the next day. Wednesday band fun and included in price...shame nearly empty. Very quiet.....maybe too much...but slept superbly...in a comfortable bed...not sad... More

35 of us, a mixture of children and adults (and dogs), spent a weekend at this hotel for my 40 something birthday. I want to thank all the wonderful staff at this amazing place for an absolutely perfect weekend. This hotel regularly caters for large groups and as we had lots of small children in our party this worried us... More

we hold our annual music event at Baskerville Hall, and as we have come to know them, words cannot describe how lovely the whole gang are at the hall. All warm, kind and always friendly with a wonderful sense of humour and fun. All the staff look after us so well during our weekend and create a happy, clean and... More

I am a frequent business traveler and have stayed in many 'chain type' hotels. These are mostly very conventional places and serve a particular purpose. They can also be rather pricey.  Baskerville Hall Hotel offers the antidote for this type of experience and is a very unique hotel if you like individual, quirky places full of character and charm. My... More
