We booked a last minute stay at Canterbury House when the weather forecast Hot, Hot, Hot at the end of September/beginning of October! We had a really warm welcome from Marc & he explained the room & gave us some recommendations of places to eat on the evening. We ate in The Anchor Inn which was superb & we would... More

We stumbled upon this b&b after deciding at the last minute to stay overnight in Sidmouth. The owners were really welcoming and the room was lovely. We didn't know the area but we were provided with lots of helpful info. We would definitely recommend Canterbury house to others. More

This is the 3rd year that we have stayed in Canterbury House and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Sidmouth. The location is only a few minutes walk from the shops and beach. Its approximately a 30 minute drive to Exeter and 5 minutes to the Donkey Sanctuary. Marc and Jan are always so welcoming and even though the guest house... More

We wanted a last minute escape from work, tried numerous accommodation inSidmouth, but due to it being the folk week,we had no chance, until we received a call from Marc with a cancellation. Marc met us on arrival(late evening) with his charming smile to explain all in the room. The room was a twin on the bottom floor, which had all the home comforts... More

Our adult family group stayed two nights and really enjoyed our time there. Location near the town was convenient, our rooms were fine and we made good use of the comfortable resident lounge for family meetings. Marc and Jan were very helpful over the dietary needs of one of our party and our request for an early breakfast - which... More

My partner and I have just spent a most agreeable weekend in Sidmouth, staying at the Canterbury House B & B, which is very well located both for the town centre and the sea front. Marc and Jan made us feel most welcome and our room was clean yet cosy, with an excellent shower , good lighting and a very... More

The Canterbury house hotel is situated within walking distance of the town and is close to the Byes (small park) where you can have a pleasant walk alongside the stream or watch the world go by. We were only staying for one night and had a double/en suite on the ground floor on the front of the hotel. It was... More

We thank the Trip Advisor member for their review and apologise if their second visit to us was spoilt in any way. We work hard to maintain our high standards and had the concerns raised in the review been brought to our attention during their stay, we would have been happy to have arranged alternative accommodation. The room in question... More
