We were a party of 7aged between 7 and 87 coming to yorkshire for the sculpture park and the hepworth. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and incredibly good value for money. The landlady was great and cooks the best breakfasts- especially the poached egg! She recommended a brilliant restaurant 5 minutes walk away and as we left we noticed a... More

We just needed a bed for the night before attending a wedding near to Wakefield. We weren't expecting much for £30 a night for a twin room with continental breakfast but were pleasantly surprised. The landlady was very welcoming and the room was a good size with ensuite shower room. In the morning we were offered a cooked breakfast instead... More

Stayed for 1 night whilst on visiting relatives. Agree with other review regarding landlady. Went to bathroom in the night and there were 2 cockroaches scurrying across the floor. Complained to landlady next day and she more or less said that if we didn't like it we could leave! Which we did, immediately. Sheets were stained and room not very... More

We checked in at 10:30pm on a Friday night to a very warm welcome from the landlady. The house is very central but the area was quiet and parking was available right outside. The ensuite twin room was clean, with spotless bed linen and towels and a good power shower. Breakfast was fabulous, cooked to order by the landlady, and... More

Visited second time. A reliable choice in a town that doesn't have much in the way of hotels and bnbs. I was in the same room as last time - single, with ensuite. Very clean and homely, with a comfortable if firm bed, and a proper writing desk. Best thing about this place is the breakfast - landlady cooks to... More

My friend and I needed somewhere to stay when we went to Wakefield clubbing for a friends birthday. My dad found this place and it only cost us £25 for a twin room and breakfast!! The location was fabulous, just 5 minute walk from the city centre. The hotel was very clean and tidy and the owner was very welcoming.... More

I have booked a room over the phone couple of weeks in advance. On arrival day I was told (at 9:30 pm, by the female owner) that she has no rooms available!!! I was astonished by her unprofessional approach - she did not even felt responsible for the whole fuss. After trying to find out what was the reason for... More

Saville guest house is very good value and I had a lovely stay. It's situated in an unassuming house 5 mins' walk from the centre of Wakefield, just across the road from the bus station. The road seemed to have sheltered housing on it, and there were teenagers hanging around in the evening, but it felt safe. There is a... More

We stayed here for the local CAMRA beer festival which was at the end of the road! Nice residential area just over the road from the bus station. The room was very clean with clean towels and sheets and looked like it had been recently decorated. The landlady was very friendly and even let us keep the keys until late... More
