I advised the organisers of our visit, and the hoteliers, that I was somewhat disabled, but they did not inform me that the bathrooms were unsuitable for the less able, very narrow way between length of bath and wall to reach the lavatory, lavatories too low for older people, very little floor space.. Even if I was able, I would... More

We felt we should respond to this review and give some background information. The guest travelled with Saga to the Dunoon Hotel in May. During this particular trip Saga brought 34 customers and over four months ago had requested two "accessible" rooms with walk-in showers for other guests. We were aware that the cuistomer who wrote this review had mobility... More

A very tired old fashioned poorly equipped hotel.worn patterned carpets cover squeaky floorboards along gloomy narrow corridors. The rooms are little better with poor lighting archaic furniture and cramped antiquated bathrooms. Candle wick bedspreads and blankets complete the .1950s feel. The big surprise is the food which is superb and plentiful.the staff are excellent. Definitely one for the unsophisticated pensioner... More

We came for a four night stay and found a very comfortable family run hotel. The lounges are comfortable with a log fire burning - especially inviting as the weather was wet and windy on one day. The service was excellent and the food very good and varied. Our bedroom was well equipped with two easy chairs and a television... More

Just arrived home afetr spending 3 days in The Dunoon & once again everything was wonderful. The hotel is so clean and warm and the food is lovely. Beautifully presented & so tasty and you are not overfaced. And the restaurant staff? Well, what can you say? They are so pleasant, so professionally turned out and nothing is too much... More

We booked a room for Saturday night at short notice - superior twin room was clean and spacoius, though bathroom was small it was very clean and had everything we required. The hotel is charming, with oak panelling and antiques, very calm and civilised - just what we needed after a stressful week. The 5 course dinner was lovely, well... More

The standard of service and the quality of the food has remains first class. We first visited in 1974 and return on a fairly regular basis. It was lovley to know that on our last visit last visit in May 2011, the current owners pay as much attention to detail as the previous ones. Seagulls sometimes wake you early, but... More

Good location, within easy walking distance of shops. Rooms beautifully decorated and bed very comfortable. Very little noise from the road, just a few creaky floorboards at night.Food was well prepared and presented with a good choice of dishes. Staff were all helpful, even when confronted by guests who seemed determined to find fault. Bathroom was good with a strong... More

Never been to wales before, the hotel was quite traditional however staff were really friendly had good knowledge of the area. The first room that was given to us was really small we got another room given to us without a problem. The molton brown shower gel and shampoo is a good touch. The hotel is really clean, but could... More

Our fourth visit to this hotel and it didn't disappoint. Yes, traditional decor downstairs but very welcoming, warm and comfortable. Bedrooms beautifully decorated, pristine bath/shower rooms and again well heated. The food is great! We also read the review which thought that the breakfast menu was 'mean'. Can't agree with this at all. Terrific choice of cereals, fruit, cooked items,... More
