Stayed for 2 nights with my sister in 2 adjoining single rooms. Lots of steps both at the entrance and to go down to our rooms. Rooms basic but adequate - unfortunately was woken by noise at 1.15 in the morning by rowdy women returning to their rooms. Good value for money. Breakfast basic but adequate. Lacked atmosphere - nowhere... More

Cheap, clean, zero frills. Straight in, straight out. Similar to etap type place. Wash and sleep in rooms only and this is the place. Wouldn't recommend it if you are tolerant to the types of people who stay here ie students/less respectful people! Serves its purpose for the odd stay though.

on arrival staff were unfriendly... No conversation and no smiles! Rooms were ok but in need of repainting . Although price is good, we would rather pay a bit extra in order to get a less gloomy experience. Won't be booking here again as staff just make the whole experience depressing and add to the miserable atmosphere!

This is the second time that we have visited the Big Sleep Hotel. We requested a quiet room and got one. Last time we were in a smaller room, which had a superb wet room in it. The power of the shower was superb, and the hair dryer on the wall soon dried the wet floor etc! Our bathroom this... More

Unusual decor to say the least but works.Mixture of mininalist and colourful with a twist, Public areas do lack atmosphere but this is not help by staff.Reception Staff ok but thats as far as could say. We had travelled for 4.5 hours and arrived at 2pm. It was obvious that we were not going to get even one room early... More

I stayed here last year with my wife whiist celebrating our first wedding anniversary, we were made to feel very special by the staff, the hotel manager came and spoke to us and offer congratulations, she gave us a bottle of complimentary wine to celebrate. We were very happy. We loved it so much we decided to come back. This... More

On arrival I was greeted by an angry looking lady , and a miserable girl. This is not my first visit to the hotel. I had stayed a year ago for my anniversary and was very pleased with all aspects quality of room, hospitality, customer service etc. This time things were completely different. Poor service, miserable and unapproachable front of... More

Stayed there 11th. April and was satisfied by welcome, high standard of cleanliness and service given. Not as good as the Ritz which so many people seem to expect for £30 a night. If, just as I was, only requiring a room for the night this is an ideal hotel. Parking problem sorted. Free parking after 6pm and 'residents card'... More

Stayed here for one night, its on the sea front so a bit of a walk into town. But lovely location :). The room was very basic but suited our purpose and was clean, staff were friendly. Only prob was it's no good for people who can't walk stairs as the lift is not in use after 11pm we were... More

There are two categories of people in the hotel industry - those who are prepared to help out their clients, those who, well, don't. Unfortunately Big Sleep is the latter. I did not actually stay in the hotel because it did not get that far - but if the customer service I received was anything to go by its just... More
