We booked the Ellesmere's last room on 8th April for a one night stop over on 19th April. On arrival, we managed to find some free overnight parking just around the corner. The hotel looked nice as we entered and our key was made available to us in an envelope hidden in a pot plant. We went to our room.... More

I stayed at the Ellesmere with my boyfriend and mum and dad whilst taking part in the Brighton marathon as the price was a lot more reasonable that hotels in Brighton itself and it's a short drive from Eastbourne. On our arrival, I thought straightaway that the hotel looked fairly dated, the interior looks like it could use a lick... More

My husband and I stayed at the Ellesmere one night during a few-week trip across the UK. Many of the other reviews seem to indicate a very different experience than we had, so perhaps we caught the hotel on an off day or we got the room they only rent when booked to the max (to give the benefit of... We stayed at this hotel for two nights in September. Our immediate reaction was how warm the welcome was. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a large room which was a little old fashioned and could benefit from updating, however it was clean and comfortable. Parking was in the square in front of the hotel and we... More

My boyfriend and I stayed two nights at The Ellesmere along with my parents, my brother and my brother's girlfriend, as we had a family wedding to attend in the area. It's a traditional English B&B with a very good full English buffet breakfast and large (although basic) rooms. The beds were comfortable and all rooms have a small TV... More

Having travelled by Train to Eastbourne the hotel took a while to locate. It looked unpreposing from the outside and the decor old fashioned and "busy". Nonetheless it had a friendly homely feel about it . We were running late but found the Proprietor had a solution for his late arrivals that we found quite charming. We were pleased with... More

We had just the best room...3 large windows to look out over the park. A large room high ceilings. we were made feel very welcome. A lift to get our cases up to our 2nd floor room although there are steps up to front door of hotel we found later we could have brought our cases through lower ground floor/disabled... More

Stayed here in August 2010 whilst the Eastbourne Airshow was on. Was promised a parking permit which was absolutely useless as the square in which the hotel is situated is closed during the airshow so avoid staying there during this period as parking in the rest of the town is also horrendous and we has to park 1 mile away....
