We visited Bergen to attend a concert and needed a room for a couple of days. It was nearly impossible to get a room in Bergen because of the festival ("Festspillene i Bergen") that was going on the same week.

I stayed in Alkoven guesthouse in july 2010. during my norway trip with my mother.
I must say it was one of the nicest accommodations we stayed at.
We got the family room for 650NOK per night which is so cheap!
The room is huge, clean and from our winow we could see the harbour.
The house is so charming...

We choosed this guesthouse for two reasons: the possibility of sleeping in a real norwegian wooden house and the very high prices of hotels in Bergen. This guesthouse is slightly outside the city center (about 1 km from the Fish Market), on the top of a mild hill, with a nice view on the harbour. It's only about 15 minutes...
