If you want to stay in or near Tromso I can recommend this cabin. Viktoria arranged our booking and was really helpful. We picked up our vehicle from the airport which is an easy 15 to 20 minute drive (even on the snow). If it is snowing be aware that you need a good run up the little hill just... More

we stayed in cabin number 2. We were collected from the airport and taken to the cabin via the supermarket which allowed us to stock up. we deliberately didnt book a hire car and fully intended to plot down and do nothing but star gaze as my hubby had a back injury. be warned if you want to go to... I went here with friends in Feb 2013. They had been before and highly recommended it and I can now fully appreciate why. Nestled at the quiet end of a beautiful fjord the location is idyllic and the perfect base for aurora chasing and observing Norwegian life and wildlife. There are some lovely walks along the edge of the fjord's... More

I did not stay overnight in a cabin, but booked an evening trip to try and see the Northern Lights from a cabin on the fjord. We were collected from Tromso tourist information office by Henry, who owns the cabin, passed down from his grandfather. There were 5 adults and one little boy on the trip. Henry is a lovely... More

It was my first not-urban holidays, since I can't remember! we choose Ersfjordbotn kystferie, while owner offers excellent service for those who loves fishing! And not only for the fishermen there is a great service, but also for regular travelers, who would like to escape from the noise of the city. Owner does have boats, all what needed to prep... More

We stayed here in late March and sadly did not see any northern lights, but I guess that just means we'll have to go back! Stumbled upon this place when there was only one review here on TripAdvisor by someone who was hesitant to let the secret out - and now I can see why! We did all our planning... More

We stayed here in February 2012 for 9 nights If you want to stay in the city of Tromso then possibly that would be a preference in the summer. If you want to view the northern lights/aurora borealis though in winter time then stay here. It is well outside the city to not suffer light pollution and is an idealic... More

Great location, remote and quiet and we did see the Northern Lights on our last night. Henry is an absolute gem, ready to help at anytime and even drove us to the bus stop to get faster to Tromso. Would recommend it to anyone, breathtaking views of fjord and mountains. We didn't rent a car as there are buses, but... More

Three of us stayed at cabin 'Hytte 4' for 3 nights in January. We hope to see the northern lights.. so having read a few reviews where professional photographers would choose to go to Ersfjordbotn to see the northern lights, we thought it would be a good idea to stay there (instead of staying in Tromso and then make our... I really don't want to do this, because I'll probably never get a booking again, but Henry, the owner of these cabins was such a lovely chap that I really want to. Ersfjordbotn is a magnificent fjord, and it's a priviledge to stay in a cabin, wake up, look out of the window and see the beautiful water and mountains.... More
