Every year we participate in the big computer party called the Gathering. It takes place at Easter every year in Hamar.
Since I am too old for sleeping on hard floors in a sleeping bag, I prefer staying in hotels.
I must say the hotel is perfect at Easter, there is not much going on, the service at the reception...

Hotel is situated about 1 km from the town centre, near a small, but nice park. From the outside, the property seems to be from at least three different decennia.
Inside, most of the communal areas are nice, clean and well-kept. At one point I wandered down the wrong corridor and ended up in a dead end in an old...

Stayed in a room 7th floor with views to the lake. Quite spacious, compared with the average hotel rooms - especially that goes for the bathroom. Nice adjustabel bed.
Less than 10 minutes walk to the town centre, but on a rainy day I relaxed well at the hotel. The Scandic hotels don`t have a minibar, but theres a bar...

We stayed in Hamar for one day/ night only. It's a walk of approximately 10 mintes to the city center. There is nothing to complain about the accommodation - the staff was very friendly. The room we stayed in was nice, clean, comfortable and large. The bathroom was convenient and clean too. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel offers meeting and...

Very good hotel, efficient service, very nice rooms, clean and well maintained, and given it is in Norway excellent value for money. Good breakfast too.
We stayed in a number of Scandic hotels during our Scandinavia trip. We quite like the concept they have with an eco-friendly no-nonsense approach. The Scandic in Hamar stood out for us. Clean and modern rooms & restaurant, friendly helpful staff and good breakfast in the morning. Would stay again for sure.
Stayed 2 nights in a very, very sparse room (is probably supposed to be "Eco" minimalist but seems to err on the side of cheap):-
Negatives: poor bathroom ventilation, no hotel/information guide (some in Norwegian on TV), no safe, ultra expense local calls (NOK120 for 2 short calls to friends to make arrangements), inadequate storage space for 2 people.
Positives:...

We stayed here one night as part of a large tour group. Very clean, modern room. Quiet hotel in quiet location. It seemed as if our tour members were the only guests. Friendly, helpful front desk staff.
