Let me start by saying I have stayed in A LOT of hostels, so I've not exactly got high expectations. But this place is the worst I have ever stayed in. I just travelled from Budapest, where I stayed in a hostel by the same company Hostelling International. I paid half the price of this place for the same amount... More

Dear guest We ´re sorry , that you felt disturbed from the other young guests of our hostel but you have to understand, that young school groups also have a right to stay with us. They are always accompanied by teachers, who are responsible for them and if other guests still have problems with them, they can contact our reception,... More

Average hostel. It is a little bit out of the way, but the trams are very easy to use and right out the front of the hostel too. Though the rooms are very quiet - you don't get a lot of street noise or anything like that. The only noise we got was a choir that was staying there practicing... More

Spotless youth hostel with a nice price-quality index. The rooms in the youth palace wing are just perfect if you are looking for a place to sleep and to have a shower. The other part offers older room which should be renewed but they are still okay. Shared facilities are clean. All you can eat breakfast is a great way... More

Actually i am writing this review quite late; i stayed there for 7 nights in July, 2010. I went to attend a conference in Vienna and one of the conference organizers suggested me this. I booked pretty well in advance; i booked in May, and therefore got one of the best rooms they have. My room was “Category 3: Two... More

Good place to stay - v. clean, v. friendly, no noise from the tourists despite the fact that a lot of young people are staying. Rooms equipped modestly, but well. V. high standard for a hostel. Meals v. good value for money - nutritious, savoury and cheap. Good tramway connection to the centre from Friedrich-Engels-Platz (closer to the hostel and... More

Quote: "the 410 bed hostel backs on to the Donauinsel, Europe's longest man-made beach, on the banks of the Danube." This is complete fiction. The location is dreadful. The hostel is located in the middle of a public housing estate, 15 minutes walk from the Donau/Danube which is a dirty, ugly industrial waterway. There is NO man-made beach anywhere here,... More

Dear Guest thank you for your comments but the hostel is situated exact where shown on google and other maps. We really don't know how long it took you to walk this maximum 500 to 600 meters. We have of course to accept your personal opinion about the danube and the danube island - million of other people love this... More

We were in Vienna for an event and the event organisers put us up here - clean and functional and in easy distance of public transport. Only the rooms in the new wing have internet.

Starting with the pros, Brigittenau is cheap quite good acommodations. Remember it is a hostel, not a hotel, so you should not expect luxury itens, like room service and TV in the bedroom. The place is really tidy and clean, and you always see staff working to keep things like this. Besides, their efforts to build a `green` hostel are... More

Can't fault this hostel on budget or functionality. Lounge kitted out with plugs and free wifi, lunch and dinner is extremely cheap at only £5 for 3 courses and the free breakfast is also great. We were also so pleased as we had booked a dorm and when we arrived we were given a private dorm! However, don't come here... More

We stayed in the new part of this YHA and were thoroughly impressed. It is a modern design and quite beautiful in a functional way. The rooms were very designer simple - quite lovely. It had its own bathroom. The foyer has a large common area attached with pool tables and sofa area for reading or using your laptop/ i-pad... More
