Of the 8 accomodations on this trip to Europe this is by far the worse including the fact that two of them were apartments with one in a home of an owner. The location of this establishment is fantastic. Very central as its just behind the Sasha Hotel and one block from the Opera House. Love the old world charm... More

We spent 3 nights at the Astoria in May 2012. The location is excellent, but it is very overpriced. The total bill was roughly $300USD/night for a "business room" (which meant it had a sofa and a bit more square footage). The final bill also included a good breakfast buffet every morning, but that wasn't included in the room tariff.... More

I think the staff was about the friendliest group of people I've ever encountered. very helpful and ready to help out in any way they could. The location was perfect for us. We could walk or take the subway everywhere we wanted to go. The Statsoper and the Hofburg are a block away. The Musikverein is in easy walking distance.... More

Very pleased with hotel although would not be suitable in the summer months as no air conditioning in the bedrooms, visited in May which was very warm and given a fan which was ok. Also be aware, no toiletries in bathroom except for shower and hair wash. A plus was fresh sheets every day! Helpful staff and very central.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. Arrived on day of Vienna Marathon so had to walk for at least an hour to get there from where the cab dropped us. No marks to the hotel or Vienna generally for not considering access problems. Had we known we would have delayed arrival. No sympathy from the rather abrupt reception... More

Whatever the good side of this hotel become meaningless for us after what we had upon our arrival. The receptionist informed us that they didn't have our name on the guest list. They said that we had cancelled our reservation, which is actually a non-refundable and already paid booking. At that moment we were thinking, how on earth such kind... More

When we arrived, the concierge insisted upon bringing our bags to the room. As we had just arrived from Prague, we only had Czech currency and offered him 200 Czeck Crowns for tips. He rudely declined, telling us he couldn't even buy an icecrem for that. This really soured our view of the place. (we later exchanged the 200 for... More

The moment I walked in I was greeted with charm and tradition. The lady behind the reception made me feel instantly welcome and at home...I suffer from Parkinson's and she spotted that I was having difficulties with the registration form and discretely assisted me, offered me maps and information and had me escorted to a beautiful spacious room. This lady,... More
