Our intention was originally to cross the alps from here and end our 1000km trip in Venice, however the experience in Villach was so demotivating for us both that we decided to take the train home. We got stuck in Villach after a late train caused us to miss our connection. After checking a few hotels in the area, we settled on an air-conditioned room at the very centrally-located Goldenes Lamm for about 100EURO excluding breakfast. The room was spotless, appeared to be brand new, had a great air conditioning unit, good shower, and comfortable bed.... More
