if you want to be transported back to the bygone era of art deco and mystery then come to Forest Park Hotel! This awesome hotel will remind you of Agatha Christie! I was expecting to see Hercules Peroit pop out at any moment! This place is magical! The rooms are modern and clean with a hint of 1936 and The Shining! The service was excellent and the staff very dedicated and hardworking! The setting and location very relaxing and tranquil!

Positives: Excellent variety of breakfast. Tasteful and very good. Really nice vibe of breakfast hall. Nice lounge room and veranda Really warm environment and good temperature It was nice to see the old games that were stored the past years to be on again. Negatives: Self service for drinks We asked for a map of the hotel history as last year and they said they did not have any but only pictures on the wall. Really disappointed that we could not teach to our kids' the history of such hotel. The small mini market they had was closed unfortunately. The pool was supposed to be working when the central heating was on (that was mentioned to us by the woman in the reception) but did not know if it was working or not!!! The lock on the door was broken and it was supposed to be fixed but it was not but this did not affect our stay. The hotel rooms need refurbishment for sure and mostly the bathrooms were the doors were not in good shape and the sink mixers and bath need urgent replacement.

The hotel is nice but definitely needs a renovation. Very old bathrooms not working hot water in the basin. Would not call it a 4 star hotel. More like 3 star. Shampoo shower gel and hand soap was the same thing. Which was not nice if you wanted to wash your hair. The service at breakfast was not welcoming. The tables were quite full. Was expecting somebody to come and ask how many people we were and us a table. Restaurant service was good. Would think again of going.

Young couple next to us when we were checking in complained of no towels in their room. Arrive to our room to find the door wide open and didn't find any towels in our room either on 5th floor. friends with us in room next door had same issue with no towels. Both of us separately called zero for reception to be told someone would be up shortly. 50 minutes later still waiting for towels to arrive in order to have a shower and freshen up. Very poor and sloppy service. In the end went down to reception to demand towels for the same guy in reception to be suprised we had asked for towels. Given bath towels and an hour later still waiting for hand towels to arrive!

60s-70s vibe, i didnt mind that, but the hotel has nothing to offer. Basically you are paying only to sleep there. Hard to sleep at night, strange noise was coming up all the time. Breakfast was cold and stale. Dinner in ala carte was nice tho.

The hotel boasts 4 stars but it absolutely isn’t - This is a 3 star at best hotel. The entire building needs a kick of paint and some love in every nook and cranny. Across the walls of the hotel, you can’t escape photos of its previous grandeur and pomp back in the 30s to 50s…but if your last grand era was 70 years ago, you can’t call yourself grand. The food isn’t great, the staff can be rude and unfriendly. There isn’t any love for this hotel or pride; no managers welcoming with open arms, no staff wanting to help you out or make your stay better…it is a hotel pretending everything is fine, when it clearly isn’t. However, the location is great and being in the forest / mountains amongst the trees is lovely. Their outside pool is really great.

We stayed at this hotel for one night . There are two kind of rooms: classical and superior. Classical rooms have not been renovated and superior rooms have been renovated and have a bigger balcony. The hotel itself is located in the middle of a forest. To reach the pool from the hotel rooms or reception you need to use stairs. Therefore this hotel may not be convenient for persons with limited physical conditions. The hotel was built in 1936 and tries to keep its original decoration and look. Therefore it may seem a bit outdated for some people but this is intentional. The room 702 we had was very quite and I couldn’t hear any mechanical noise states in previous reviews. The view from the balcony was nice. The bathroom was simple but clean. The wifi worked fine but was not the fastest. The mattress firm and comfortable. The dinner buffet for 20€ was not bad but only the salad was homemade. The evening atmosphere on the garden is really nice and cozy. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. I wish the coffee quality was better (coffe machine was a German brand). All in all this hotel is a great calm gateway for people who are tired of busy and hot beaches of Cyprus and want cool temperatures which could be easily 10 centigrades lower than on the beach.

We had two rooms for a family visit in June 2023. The hotel is old and needs a lot of work. The breakfast and the coffee are very low quality. We could deal with that. If at least the sleep quality for a hotel was worth it. We barely slept all night long due to a grinding, mechanical noise. We were in room 702. I believe that entire corridor is plagued by this incessant, annoying noise. I got up in the middle of the night to try and figure out what it was. I walked down the hall, and the noise was audible for the entire hallway. We complained at the front desk, and they acted surprised, but I am positive they know exactly what it is and they get complaints often. No resolution. They barely even apologized. I would avoid this hotel if you want to get any sleep. Additionally, there is only one small and very slow elevator and at check out time in the morning you can easily wait 30 minutes to get an elevator to go downstairs. There are stairs, but not everyone can carry all of their luggage up and down the stairs. The village of Platres was beautiful, but this hotel made the experience exhausting and disappointing.

My husband sums up this place by saying everything about it was terrible, but he really enjoyed it! The receptionist was unpleasant and blunt. The dinner and breakfast were awful. The room we were given was large and so very, very 70s - there was even a radio control in the headboard! If you like nostalgia this might be a place to try, but don't eat here!
