We stayed in a standard apartment for 7 nights, in February 2012. We were greeted by the owner who explained everything to us, gave us our key, and left us to enjoy our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed, cooking facilities including cooker and microwave, toaster, all utensils, and a fridge, which meant we could self cater where possible... More

we've just come back from a 3 night stay at Alfred's Apartments. The location is excellent - just off the main street that runs through the shopping area but far enough away from the bars and restaurants to be able to get a good night's sleep. This is a great place to stay in Reykjavik. It is 2 or 3 houses off the main shopping street, and just a 15 minute walk from the harbour. My fiancée & I stayed 4 nights in mid September. It's a fantastic little place. The owner is very friendly, and the apartment was spotlessly clean.
