I arrived here around 8.15am to a place that appeared to be abandoned. I was there for around 20 minutes before the owner came. It is mostly used by students in the off season and not tourists so there isn't a 24 hour front desk. This is not to scare anyone away from staying here but to let you know... More

~We arrived at the hotel and were told they were overbooked so we would have to share the bathroom. They would refund our money if we wanted to leave and they would find us another hotel. We decided to stay based on the wonderful staffs attitudes. The hotel was in the middle of renovations (we stayed September 2011).The renovated rooms... More

Lovely hotel! 20 minute walk from the city centre, with hip, modern rooms. Really comfy beds, and soft nice linens. Great breakfast, and GREAT coffee! We stayed here twice during our stay in Iceland, and the owners are so lovely, interesting, helpful and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for 5 nights in September 2011. The hotel is situated in a quiet industrial area, without much to do around, but it wasn't far away from the center - only about half an hour of walking (if that) or 10-ish minutes by bus (the nearest bus stop is just across the street and there are at least... The area is industrial and the outside of the building a little shabby, but we were happy when we saw our room at Hotel 66. We stayed in the family superior room and had no problems with outside noise. The room could use some more furniture but has a brand new fridge and a comfortable bed. The hotel has lots... More

We stayed at Hotel66 for our wedding (with ~40 people). Convenient location, very laid back hosts. We were a complicated group and they dealt with us amazingly well. Highly recommended. There's wireless internet and good coffee here. Great for someone who needs to stay connected to the world.

What an excellent experience! The innkeeper was very friendly and accomodating, the price was right, and the room was perfect - clean and simple. A little bit off the beaten path (walking to downtown took me about 25 minutes), but easily accessible to public transit. Renovations are currently ongoing (my room was spotless, and comfortable), and the new owner and... More

Newly renovated and under new management. Our hosts were wonderful, extremely helpful with assisting with flight issues due to volcanic eruption and assisting with a credit card problem. Also very knowledgable about Iceland's "best things to do" and places to eat. We chose a basic room with a private bathroom. Great rainforest shower head with good water pressure. The rooms... More
