We went to Heydalur for ptarmigan hunting, the weather was very bad on the way from Reykjavik but we arrived after 5 hours. The rooms are very nice, the service good, breakfast and dinner well above what you could expect. All in all, great place and I will go there again and in summer time.

The rooms are described as deluxe but were fairly basic with 2 beds, 2 chairs a small table and a kettle (no tea or coffee!).
