Af Chapmann is used for marketing but part of the rooms are in a little old dated building nearby. Rooms are spacipus but very basic with dirty plastic carpets. Reserve only if you are sure to get place in the boat!

We stayed just for one night and partied in the city nightclub.
We liked the location very much, it was walking distance to everywhere despite that it is kind of isolated on this cute small island. The hostel is clean, the staff is friendly, the view from our window was definitely worth the money. breakfast is nothing special but all...

I stayed in this hostel with a friend and we stayed in the dorm accommodation on the ship. I can't remember exactly how many beds there were but I can remember at least 6 and it is coed. The sheets and towels were included in the price 315SEK (May 2011) and there was also a washbasin in the room. The...

It was hard to find a hostel for a reasonable price in Stockholm, and this was a good option. It's well located, on walking distance to major attractions, like the Old Town and the Vasa Museum. I stayed on land, so I cannot talk about the ship accomodations. I stayed in a 3-bed dorm, and it was clean. The bathrooms...

Not a bad place to stay if you want to be in a great location. Stayed here with my family(husband, a 6 year old and a 3 year old) for 4 nights in the building and was happy with our stay. We had a room with 4 beds on the first floor and it was good for our needs. Just...

The af Chapman hostel has two major things going for it: 1) it's incredibly central location (just over the bridge from the 'mainland' to the islet of Skeppsholmen and within 10 mins walk of Gamla Stan) with views over the royal palace, and 2) some of it is on a beautiful 18th century boat, which is a fun experience.
The...

First thing is first, there are beds on the boat, and if you want to pay the premium, you can stay in them. There are also lots of beds on land which you can stay in for less money.
Remember that you are in Scandinavia, so wherever you go it will be expensive. This hostel includes linens and towels, which...

This is not only the most expensive Youth Hostel I've ever stayed at, but also one of the worst. It is well publicized in most guidebooks as the "boat hostel." However, the vast majority of beds are located on dry land. The dorm consists of a 17 bed attic, with limited ventilation. The hostel also charges for luggage storage.
We loved this place. I have never stayed in a youth hostel before - but this really wasn't like any youth hostel I'd imagined. We had a double bedroom plus ensuite (v posh!) and the decor was great. A third of the price of our friends' hotel. Great views across the water. Very central with everything in easy walking distance....

Pro: This hostel made our trip to Stockholm perfect. Skeppsholmen is a quite and lovely small island near the city center. The central station, Gamla Stan(old town) are in walking distance(or 3-4 bus stops away). The hostel is facing the Gamla Stan, there is beautiful view just through your room. Though there're plenty of accommodations along the river bank, but...
