This inn is very typical Swedish and the history for the Swedish inns in general, goes back to the 16th century, when the king Eric XIV founded a law that demanded the Swedish communities to offer places where travelers could find over-night accommodation, food and beverages and also change horses. Margretetorp Gästgifvaregården is just a such inn!

Passing Ängelholm we decided to stay at the Margretetorp Gästgifvaregården for a night to explore the surroundings in Ängelholm.
The hotel was partly renovated in 2008 and has grown in size and also flexibility, especially for conference guests. The location of the hotel is in a quiet area on the countryside. Approximately 8 kilometres from the sea and beaches (Vejbystrand)....

We spent my husbands 60 st birthday here. All the family and our friends enjoyed it very much. The rooms were nice and the atmosphere friendly. We enjoyed the gourmet dinner. The staff were very service-minded. It was an excellent stay.
This hotel (inn) is truly tucked away in the swedish countryside. It has the atmosphere of a lodge, (although by no means rustic) especially with the half-timber architecture. The rooms are very comfortable. The decor is exquisite. Our room had an adjoining sitting area perfect for an evening glass of wine. We also enjoyed a gourmet dinner in the restaurant....
