We really enjoyed our stay, especially the fresh-baked bread (you can request whatever kind you like, my son was partial to the cheddar-bacon!). Even my 13-year-old was charmed feeding the lambs and rabbits, and gathering eggs from the henhouse. The cottage was very comfortable, even in chilly weather, and Debbie and Ed were very helpful, especially when NZ's "biggest winter... More

It was truly excellent and much larger than the photos suggest. Absolutely spotlessly clean and fully equipped with washing machine, BBQ etc. Freshly baked bread from Debbie together with fresh eggs straight from her chickens made it stay to remember. We had only booked for 2 nights and asked about extending the stay for one more night - we were... More

Hamurana is located about 7kms outside of Rotorua on 2 acres of farmland which we initially thought might bother us but it didn't as everything else makes up for it. We had been travelling around the North Island for almost 2 weeks & experienced a couple of not so great stays ... Broekhaven was a breath of fresh air "literally".... More

We were honeymooning in NZ and wanted to experience a farm stay for at least two nights. After going through at least 50 different farm stays on http://www.tourism.net.nz/accommodation/farmstays/ we narrowed down on Broekhaven and are extremely happy to have done so. I have, since then, been pushing all my friends to go to NZ for a vacation and specifically stay... More

Nice cottage--comfortable with a great setting. Hands on feeding of the farm animals and wonderful hostess. Two baby lambs made the experience extra special. A little surprised to make our own breakfast within our little cottage but nice in its own way. Clean and spacious. Washing machine to do laundry was a bonus! 15 minutes from downtown Rotorua. More

A wonderful place to stay with small children. The sheep and chickens kept our almost 3 year old busy, feeding, petting, saving food scraps and talking! The host Debbie came and took him to feed the animals giving us parents a little break, time enough to cook up the free range eggs for breakfast! The cottage is well equiped with... More

After two busy weeks in Hong Kong, Sydney and Auckland, a 5-day stay at Broekhaven was perfect and provided the best nights' sleep of the holiday. The cottage was very well located for exploring Rotorua and enjoying the many things the region has to offer. It was the ideal little home away from home with much appreciated daily home-baked bread... More

Broekhaven Cottage is in a beautiful location close to Rotorua but away from the touristy centre. Cottage is clean and well appointed. Debbie and Ed make you very welcome and provide useful advice on things to do. Debbie's bread, croissants and pastries are superb. More

Our only regret was that we only booked for 2 nights. It was the perfect start to our holiday in New Zealand. More

We stayed in Broekhaven for 2 nights, the house was extremely clean as well as the kitchen. Debbie's baked bread was delicious. Animals are cute & like to play with people. 5 mins. drive could reach downtown. I would just highly recommended you stay there. More
