Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent choice for someone who wants to stay in city centre. Perfectly clean, quiet, good variety at breakfast, walking distance to Aristotelous, very good homemade food restaurant is just 10m away.

Never again!! I am sorry to say that because I love this country and its people but It was an extremely bad experience. Rooms are not acustically insulated and the behaviour of the people on the room next to mine did the rest making noise and speaking loud until late nite . Despite I had already payed 5 night the morning of the 3rd day I decited to move to another hotel and I sent a complaint message to booking.com. The last night that I spent at Ilissia Hotel, with dificulties I finally fall asleep at about 3 am. 4 hours later (7 am) someone was knoking very loud at my door telling it was the wake up call I had requested the day before ! A real nightmare I was refunded the 3 nights i didn't spend at the hotel.

The hotel is located on the main local shopping street with a variety of clothing and shoe stores. As a result, I was was worried the room would be noisy - it was not; they have very good windows. The bed was also comfy. The staff at the front desk was helpful and extremely polite. The breakfast was not 5 star, but I should say it exceeded my expectations - bread, pastry, eggs, Greek salad, cheese, ham, salami, corn flakes. It takes 5 minutes to get to the Aristotle street and 10 minutes to get to the Upper Town. All in all, this is gem if you compare the price you pay with the services you get!

Perfect location in the city centre close to the airport "express" (a local synonim for overcrowded and slow) bus stop. Friendly staff (they printed my Ryanair boarding pass for free). My room with a shabby wall view was small but quiet, so I slept well. There was a fridge in my room, but no glasses at all. Free wi-fi, good enough to make Skype calls. The breakfast was simple. All in all, an adequate value for money.

Cheap and reasonable accommodation. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, though on the small side. There is noise from the nearby night club at the weekends, so a front facing room would be better. Breakfast was good though limited. For visiting Thessaloniki for a few days this hotel will be perfect if on a limited budget.

hard to believe the photos on their website are the actual rooms. We reviewed the photos again, and while they SEEM to be the same, the quality difference in the actual environment of the hotel was disgusting. I was so disappointed to see so many better looking hotels right on the same street that were not listed on the hotel sites we used for booking. This place is a dirty flea bag of a hotel.

This hotel is a few steps from the stop that goes and arrives from the airport. Also 5/10 minutes walking from the center. The room was nice and confortable. I missed the breakfast because i had to go early to the airport. The staff is very nice

Did not stay in this hotel, which I had booked two months in advance, as they emailed me three days before my trip to cancel my booking (which had been confirmed through booking.com), claiming that my MasterCard was not valid. The card was, of course, valid and I used it immediately after to successfully prepay another hotel. The rates were now considerably higher, because of an international book fair in the town, and I firmly believe the real reason they cancelled my “confirmed” reservation was precisely so that they could get a better rate from someone looking for a room at the last minute in a period when there are very few vacancies in Thessaloniki hotels. Extremely unprofessional and unreliable hotel business. Stay away.

i especially hated the toilet that seemed as if a midget picked the wc porcelain. it is very small and uncomfortable. other than that, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel is located in a busy central area of the town.
