In these days of creeping uniformity, it is a pleasure to find a hotel which reflects the style and character of the country you are visiting. If you like to find all the amenities and comforts of home when you go on holiday then the Doma is probably not for you, but if you like to feel that you have... More

I don't know that we would stay here again. The traffic noise was considerable. It was a very long walk to the center of things in Chania...and very hard to find anything to eat around town but an interesting long walk nonetheless. We bumped into a charming farmers market we may have missed but if walking is an issue I'd... More

My husband and I stayed here for two weeks in October as we were house hunting in the area and needed somewhere central. Having been delayed by our flight we didn't arrive until 12.30 in the morning. All credit to them that when we phoned to inform them that we would arrive way after their 11pm deadline they were courteous... More

This is a unique, quirky, small hotel that caters to a very specific niche in the market, it is for people who appreciate old fashioned chic! It has retained the same ambiance since the 70s, with the beautiful antiques and inspired decoration (done by 1 of the 2 owners). The top roof breakfast room with the breathtaking room and the... My husband and I enjoyed 4 nights in mid-September at the Doma Hotel. Our arrival in Chania was marred by a taxi strike, which resulted in a bus ride into town from the airport and then a mile or two walk pulling luggage on a very warm night to the Doma, which I'd known was outside of town but hadn't... I simply do not understand the positive reviews of this hotel. I'm just going to list the flaws - and no, my objections are nothing to do with wanting a big characterless resort hotel... I love a small independent hotel that does things right, but being small isn't a license to get away with murder. The following are basic flaws... More

We had a very good experience with Doma Hotel. It was well located with just a pleasant 15 minute walk along the water’s edge to the beautiful old Venetian port. This works well for anyone who plans to rent a car. Many of the hotels directly on or near the old port are not accessible by car only by foot... More

We went with another couple on our 20th anniversary and their 25th. This hotel was everything we expected and more. We did our homework before choosing Doma and knew that it would be a short walk into the heart of the the old town. We loved the old world charm of the building and the history it holds. All staff... We stayed 2 nights on our 25th anniv trip to Greece. We were greeted by a refreshing glass of cherry cider, served in the garden. We went up to our room to discover that we had 2 twin beds. We came back to the reception area, and I asked if we could get a double. We were told that the... More

This hotel is exactly as described – unique with antique decorations and is family run. Tranquil garden to the rear and good sea views at the front. There is internet access, even in bedrooms which is free. Buffet breakfast is continental with great views to enjoy coffee with. Despite the many quirky furnishings the hotel is very clean and dust... More
