I travelled here as a group of 5 young girls visiting Athens on study tour! We felt completley unsafe! On arrival we were nearlly pick-pocketed, there was prositues every where. The taxi driver an Athenian even warned us about the area! It was awful drug users, and human faeces in the streets! The rooms were poor and we felt unsafe... More

I traveled here with a large group of MBA students (25 of us all together). To start with, I think some background is needed. I am married, in my mid-twenties, from Chicago and middle-upper class. I think that these labels/stereotypes help you know where I am coming from with this review. This trip was planned on a tight budget. I... More

The hotel overall was clean. It is a bit dated and the beds aren't very comfy. It could do with a renovation. I travelled with a friend of mine (we are both girls) and we didnt feel very safe in the area around the hotel. While we were there there were huge riots on the streets. Police were everywhere and... Prostitutes. Drunks. Beggars. Very seedy neighborhood. The staff tried to make up for it by being courteous but after returning from a day out to find our door to our room left unlocked by the cleaning personnel we became even more concerned we were going to get robbed on the street and in the hotel. Literally saw a guy shooting... More

To be carefully avoided! The worst-smelling hotel I ever been in (cigarette smoke). The blankets were rough, the room was dirty, I felt the TV remote control was greasy ! There were cigarette holes in the blanket. We didn't unpack the bags because of the dirt ! The breakfast is not worth paying a visit to the restaurant. The area... More

The room was very small, bathroom too. It has quite old furnitures, in bathroom there was old, small bath tube. The room was with air-conditioning. Breakfast was very continental ;) The hotel has very small lift for 2 people. Staff was friendly and quite helpful. There wasn't any problem to leave our luggage after checking-out and back for them later.... More

I spent 8 days at the Amaryllis Hotel and found that I disagreed with most of the reviews that I read on Trip Advisor prior to my stay. The price of the hotel is great, the staff are friendly and the location is ideal for accessing the metro. One thing I discovered is that they offer access to the internet... More

We had booked for two nights. Basic accommodation with the smallest bath on the planet. Braekfast consisted of cold toast and cheap cornflakes. Single beds did not go down too well. The location is central to the Metro system. It is a red light district with all sorts of scary characters selling their wears. So beware!

I had read the terrible reviews online before staying at this hotel but should have taken them more seriously! It is situated right in the red light district of Athens. Our cab pulled up to the hotel and my friend went to take her money out to pay him and the driver stopped her and told her to never pull... More
