This is a small hotel, located in one of the nicest quietest parts of Funchal. Lovely sea-views. Spacious rooms. Excellent choice of food. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Just had a superb fortnight at this little gem on the outskirts of Funchal. Our balcony overlooked the lido where all life passed by daily. A lengthy walk from the centre but with easy local buses and a good supermarket closeby and a hotel shuttle bus we felt perfectly placed beyond the main rather featureless 'hotel zone'. 100% mark given... Stayed at the Madeira Regency Cliff for 3 nights. Hotel was very nice. Located by the Lido about a 30 minute walk from downtown Funchal. Easy to get downtown by local bus or taxi if not up for the walk. The views are great from the breakfast deck, pool and room balcony. Staff was very friendly. More

This was a very good choice of hotel for a week in Madeira. The room was excellent, quiet and had a sea view over the Atlantic Ocean. Tea and coffee facilities, a fridge and hairdryer fitted. I would have loved to give this hotel 5 stars, but to get the bad news over first we had ants in our room (no.305) and when you find loads of them crawling from behind the fixed headboard, over and under the matress late at night it is not a funny situation.
