We wanted and easy hotel with boutique feel close to the centre at a reasonable price and Browns Downtown has delivered on all those for us. In addition they threw in great design, friendly staff, comfy beds, stylish rooms and great weather (well the last wasn't really the hotel) We were here after a friends bachelor party for a few... Modern boutique hotel with very helpful and friendly English-speaking staff (especially Ava and Duarte) is a 2-minute walk from the metro and located in the heart of the Baixa district, right in between the Bairro Alto and the Alfama. My wife and I had one of the larger medium-category rooms (room 505 with street-view balcony), which was perfectly comfortable for... More

A friend and I stayed here for 3 nights over New Years. It was amazing and the best place we stayed in our Europe trip. It far surpassed being value for money - the decor, the in-room Mac, the huge bed. It was an amazing experience, it felt like we should have being paying more. Central/ great location. The service... Want a stylish "funky" room close to everything? Apple Mac in your room with reliable connection? Free coffee from machine? Great ambience and your own "mini kitchen"? Plus a very good bed to sleep on? This is it? Just for good measure the customer service is top class as well.

Great boutique hotel in the Baixa area perfect for the centre of the city. Rooms are small but very well designed and the lobby is excellent. Unlike the rip-off hotel chains you'll get free wifi on every floor and your very own apple iMac in your room - brilliant touch! If we were to be picky, some of the workmanship... More

Brown´s Downtown rooms deserve its reviews, but not at its rack rates. We stayed at the smallest rooms with a 50% discount. Rooms were small so fine for two nights. if you wished to stay longer, you may want the larger, medium size rooms to use the small kitchen in each room.

When my husband said he'd like us to stay in Lisbon in a boutique hotel that wasn't up a hill I thought I would have a struggle to find something that met the bill. Then I came across Brown's. It was stylish, in a modern urban and, well, brown sort of way, and not only not up a hill, but... More

Started off in their smallest room which not only had the distinction of being tiny, but also smelling like mildew. So bad in fact, that we were moved from that room to a medium sized room on a different floor. That room was decent. Thank you to the nighttime reception person who moved us there. Free wifi is a plus.... More

My partner and I absolutely loved staying at Browns Downtown. It's right in the city center and so central to everything like the Barrio Alto, a great are for dinner and drinks. Our room was modern, chic, immaculately clean and technologically stocked with a MAC, iPod speakers and possibly the best hotel shower I've ever experienced. The only negative I'd... More
