Fantástic hotel, the Best around Coimbra. great spa with faciliteis open útil late. Room is wonderfull and quiet. Service is great. The comun zonas are great To work or read. Free Wireless is Widely avaiable on rooms and comun areas.

My wife and I always eat their on her birthday for dinner. We've eaten there several times, we were never disappointed. Indoor or outdoor made no difference where we dined. The food was exquisite and the service was impeccable. The Arcada restaurant deserves two Michelin stars, not one. Also, this place is extremely romantic.

Have just spent three days here. Wonderful facilities, gardens and staff. Our room was in the palace itself and extremely comfortable. With sterling in its current weak state meal costs were prohibitive in the hotel but breakfast was excellent. Outside pool was useable as weather had just improved but it took far too long to get a poolside drink.

135 euros a night for a very large and historic room in a former palace set in a beautiful park, a good breakfast and parking included, is not what I'd call expensive - perhaps others paid rack rate somehow. History and legend embedded together in this magical place. Special and romantic, fabulous quiet location. Would benefit from a maintenance boost, but overall a great value. The hotel surroundings are nothing short but amazing. We walked to Coimbra old town, crossing the river from the hotel, which was a great walk by itself- recommended.
