3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2013 NEW

I have just spent three nights at this hotel, which were quite pleasant. Our Room no 28 in the Stable Block was small but adequate and very clean and well equiped. And no noises- very quiet position. Poblems with the blind and window were dealt with promptly- excellent. Staff were very good. The girl in the Terrace Bar last night... More

We stayed at the hotel for one night for a family wedding. The venue itself looked great and the event was very enjoyable. It was the hotel experience which made for a very average stay. We were in the stable block in a room which smelt musty, had a stained carpet and a tiny bathroom. We had disturbed sleep due... More

Stayed in the Old Stable Block, ground floor, a short walk from the main Hall. Location is very good for touring / walking. Impressive drive through the estate to the Hall. Wonderful grounds in estate setting with spring lambs frolicking in the sunshine. The main Hall has been refurbished recently. We took advantage of the 'free' leisure facility. The indoor... More

We purchased a cream tea via Groupon and wasn't expecting too much but we were very delighted with it. The location is very beautiful and the staff were lovely. We will return and have a meal sometime very soon. Hopefully the weather will be better and then we can explore the beautiful grounds. Thanks you

Beautiful country manor house, interesting history and architecture. Entrance very disappointing, it would be nice to arrive grandly through the front door instead of being shunted to the side like a tradesman. Bedrooms vary from really good to poor. I've been stuck in a tiny airless and windowless garret, but also stayed in a wonderfully light and spacious room, both... More

I visited this hotel as I was a guest at a family wedding so only saw parts of the hotel and its facilities. It is situated just off the A1 with a long driveway through fields, sheep and ducks. It was a beautiful day so the hotel looked very impressive with very pretty gardens. The hotel is an old mansion... More

Stayed here at the end of April 2013. The hotel looked idyllic on paper and the main building public area (especially the conservatory) is very impressive, however it appears to me that this is a conference centre (I believe it is owned by the National Union of Teachers) and it acts as a hotel to pay it's way,You arrive at... We stayed here for one night whilst attending a wedding. Thankfully we were not in our room too much as it was the size of a box and felt like we were staying in someone's small poky spare bedroom. It was clean however. The bathroom was also a big let down. The temperature in the shower could not be regulated,... More

Attended a wedding here on the 5th May and everything was perfect. The Mansion House is beautiful, as so are the grounds. As it was also my birthday we stayed in the main house and bedroom and bathroom were very large, clean and comfortable. Others stayed in the stable block but were very happy with their rooms as well. Excellent... More

Firstly I will state that this review is solely for the room I stayed in in the Stables block at SRH recently. The room was small but seemed clean and the furniture (wardrobe, desk, bedside tables) was in good condition. A hair dryer was provided and there were plenty of power points for charging your phone/tablet etc. The bathroom was... More
