OK, the stairs killed me once I used it 3 times( I stayed on the 2nd floor ) one day.I saw they tried to be nice & clean and bed was clean and nice but the room itself needs fresh up.I once smelled mold from drainage of shower space. One night is OK but cannot stay more than 2 nights... SHOWER... More

Everything throughout the hotel smelt of smoke, including us after two nights. It has a feeling of faded glory - elaborate furnishings and bar downstairs, but the facilities aren't great. No toilet-roll holder. No nozzle for the shower. The breakfast was described on their website as 'delightful', which I guess it was if you like bread, jam in little containers... More

Yes the stairs are vertiginous, the rooms tiny, and oddly the loo is in a cupboard with no room for your knees so you can't shut the door. But it's clean, everything works including the free WIFI and it's located right in the middle of the beautiful canals and restored medieval buildings of old Bruges. At this price (bearing in... More

I stayed at this hotel in May of 2011 and am disappointed to have seen some underrated/negative reviews. This hotel is for the "Rick Steve's type" traveler - the traveler who wants an inexpensive hotel room that is clean, has its own bathroom, but most importantly, is centrally located. This hotel fits that description. It is a 3 minute walk... More

This was our fourth trip to Bruges, this time with friends from Australia, one of whom as well as my wife, has a mobility problem. Although familiar with the design of the staircases in some of the older hotels in the city, this one came as a bit of a surprise to us. It was steep and narrow with threadbare... More

This hotel was fine - nothing great to say. Seemed relatively clean. Was only there for one night thank goodness because I don't think I could have washed my hair in the shower which was really a closet next to another closet that housed the toilet. Good location.

Having booked this hotel before reading some of the reviews on Tripadvisor I was fearing the worst. However we had a great two days in Bruges and found Hotel Notre Dame to be a quiet & comfortable place to stay. OK the rooms are fairly basic (but I slept like a baby and the shower was great), but what to... More

My first time in Brugges was amazing. We took the train up from Brussels thinking we would only spend the day... Little did we know. The day went on with incredible food and beer, such as, de koninck, cantillon gueuze, rochefort 10, karmeliet, and my favorite westvleletern 12. The only mishap was duvel which I would stay away from. Anyway,... More

Two nights in room 1. Bruge hotel prices never reflect value for money (so 75 Euros a night for a double room and breakfast wasn't going to be wonderful). The lower floor is really pleasant and you have no idea what lies above the tight spirral staircase, although the thread-bare carpet on the stairs might give you a hint. Large... More

This hotel was quite basic roomwise, definitely no frills, but the service was wonderful! The location was great and the price was very inexpensive. Brugge is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen. We had a lovely visit. The kind man at the front desk also made our breakfast in the morning. He was charming. There was a... More
