We loved this hotel! Set in the Jan Van Eyck Square, next to a very pretty canal it was perfect!The rooms were large and really comfortable and the bathroom was huge! We had a basin each! The hotel is lovely, the staff are friendly and polite, the location is good. On the advice of our booking guide, we reserved a superior room overlooking the canal. This is a lovely hotel with a friendly staff. Great location, near the center square while overlooking a canal. Rooms are beautifully decorated with upgraded bathrooms and great windows. Wi-fi is a bit pricey if not included in your rate but there is a computer in the lobby for guest use.

Ofcourse the canal is beautiful, but the Jan van Eyck square, the little coffeeshop around the corner, the proximity of Cafe Vlissinghe, Bistro de Refter and Restaurant De Karmeliet make the location even more perfect for a weekend in Bruges. Just stayed in bruges for a long weekend and had the fortune to be in this gorgeous hotel. Room 5 and 29 I can vouch for as absolutely beautiful. (ask for one of the superior rooms). We were there in June 2011. The hotel has a delightful location almost next to the main plaza of the city and perfectly located next to the canal. Hotel Martin's Relais is ideally placed in the 'Goldilocks' zone. Not to far and not too near the centre of Bruges.
