Myself and fiance came to Antwerp as part of a European trip in October. We dont like large chain hotels, so these smaller boutique hotels are always our first choice. We changed our booking twice due to travel plans changing, and the staff were happy to accommodate, even though the booking was a fixed date price. The room was large,... More

Only one negative comment to say about this hotel, the used toiletry products should be replaced every day. That is it! This hotel was a great find, right in the middle of the old town. We were a max of 15 mins walking distance to the furthest attraction and 20 seconds to the first bar. You would expect some noise... More

The located down a small quiet side street right in the middle of the medieaval city. We walked everywhere from the hotel. The hotel itself blends the old and the new - great design statement. The staff were excellent - on hand but not in your face. I would highly recommend this hotel. More

The Matelote could not have been more perfect for what we wanted. The staff was increadibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was clean, simple and welcoming. The location was perfect. Without a car, we needed to be in the middle of everything, and so we were! The perfectly quaint beer pubs on the corner made the location just that much... More

Excellent location in quiet street minutes from the main square. Staff were extremely helpful both prior to the visit (email), on arrival and throughout the stay. All evening meals were arranged and booked via the hotel staff and all were excellent. Best restaurant was the Aurelia - go there before they retire as you will not be disappointed. We stayed... I stayed one night at the Matelote hotel in December 2011 for business purposes and paid € 110 excluding breakfast € 12 extra). As they had only 1 standard room left when booking, I booked a suite for my colleague, which cost € 150 exkl. breakfast. The lady at the reception was very friendly and immediately explained to us the... More

My wife and I stayed here the last night of a 2 week trip to the low countries. This was probably my least favorite of the places we stayed. On the plus side, the staff was VERY nice and VERY courteous. The location is also exceptional - just a couple of streets from the city center but despite this was... More

I wish that I had been travelling for pleasure/holiday, instead of business. This hotel is a gem in the middle of Antwerp. I had to leave before breakfast was served each day, and I was rushing to deal with business concerns. If I had been on holiday, I would have enjoyed this hotel even more. The decor was perfect for... More

Historic Antwerp, great location/Tick 16th century building with plenty of exposed beams etc/ tick welcoming and helpful staff/ tick. Free Wifi/ tick, very comfortable king sized bed (2 singles together) tick Tiny minimalist rooms with polished concrete floors- no thanks, or at least put a rug on the floor. This kind of thing can work but didn't here for me.... More
