The hotel is situated near the 't Zuid area, which has a few thing to see but is slightly far from the city center (about 25 minutes walking) tram stop is just 5 meters away from the hotel though. The hotel is old and the rooms are very basic and worn, but they are clean and probably you won´t find... More

Run by a friendly couple who are happy to impart there extensive local knowledge. They can sell you a multi-journey public transport ticket. The tram which passes every ten minutes, is the best way to visit the city centre. Rooms are faded and furniture old, but clean. Amazing original art nouveau decoration in reception, lounge area and brakfast dining room. Parking... More

The room was very basic and a bit worn but it was warm. The was a distinct smell of 'pipes' too. The breakfast is simple - bread, coffee, juice etc Personally I wouldn't be rushing back but if you're on a tight budget it'll do.

The location appeared to be not so close to the center as we expected, but we still could reach the city center at around 25-40 mins walk. Also there are several tram stops near the hotel, so no issues with transport at all. The hotel itself is small: there are several rooms on a floor and about 5 floors overall... More

The host was very accommodating when we needed to check out a day early. He even refunded one of our friends who had paid in advance. The location is across the street from the tram that takes you to the center or to the train station (worth seeing). This is a old building with no lift, but the interior is... More

We stayed at the Rubenshof in June 2011. We found it to be a perfect fit or us. Although we had a car, it was close enough to walk to the historic district easily. It is what it is though, for the price and location its a great deal. No elevators (hence the budget hotel designation), but who cares? If... More

Rather like the city of Antwerp, Rubenshof has lots of history and plenty of character, but has become pretty tired and would benefit from some TLC. Room 21 was large, with a small en suite shower room with plenty of towels. The only toiletries were a bar of soap and shoeshine pad. One unpleasant incident was a group of young... More

Over the years, I spent vacations in several hotels in Antwerp, but this quiet Rubenshof is simply the best. The hotel is a landmark from the Art Deco era. All rooms are nicely designed. Large bath rooms. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Great breakfast. Rubenshof is really a traveller's paradise. They are ranked as a 'budget hotel', due... More
